the life of Ma'ah
The following is an account of another incarnation I was shown in the dream state. And by shown, I mean to say that I literally lived this entire lifetime as if it was happening in real time. Upon waking, I was forever changed. I could feel in my heart and soul the importance of this magnificent woman’s life, as she reached out through time and space to connect with mine.
I surrendered and allowed the significance of this experience to unfold over time, as all amazing things seem to do…layer upon beautiful layer. This is the story of Ma’ah - the Warrior. Remembering her life has helped me beyond any words I could ever put on this page. I am beyond grateful for all the ways that she helps me to understand myself, my soul more deeply. She helped me to see the many roles that we can play, and that there is no true good or evil, only experience and perspective. Most of all, I’m grateful that she is able to share the story of her extraordinary life through me in this now moment.
I was taken in a raid by an enemy race as a small child. They were war-faring, fearful and aggressive beings. I was raised by them to be a warrior, groomed and destined to be a trojan horse in their war against my people. There were many of us who were taken and held in captivity, conditioned to their brutal way of life. They believed we had no memories left of our families and our lives before. But they were wrong.
My race was from the stars, peaceful and loving. We were all skilled in the art of telepathy, and we spoke with each other through the mind and heart. Protected and hidden, these transmissions between us never let us forget who we were or where we came from. As children, we spoke to each other and we listened, always connected to our people, no matter how far the distance.
The time came when we were properly trained. War was declared once again against my race. The mission- to gain access to our massive starship - home to thousands of my people, so these war-mongering savages could capture it and do what they pleased with every life on board. If they were met with resistance, they would simply destroy it. All they needed was a way in - and that is how we were to be used against our own race, our own families. But, we were master pretenders with our own agenda.
As our race was in constant telepathic contact with us, they knew of this plan. We had been downloaded with blueprints of the duct system for a specific area of the ship. I drew maps in the dirt and studied them. Day after day on the ground in the training camp, I ran the course. I knew it by heart, seeing it with my inner sight. I memorized every step, every turn, and could run it easily with my eyes closed. I practiced over and over, faster and faster, knowing that one single wrong turn or mis-step could cause the destruction of my entire race. And when the time came, we were to play our part convincingly, letting them believe that all was going according to their plan.
The fated day finally came for the war-beings to make their move, fully believing and trusting that our allegiance was with them. We arrived at my people’s massive ship. The smaller ship our captors traveled in was cloaked, making it easy to get near the cargo area. A small group of us, including several that were taken so very long ago, easily boarded the ship. Once inside, our job was to disable the alarms and open the cargo doors fully so the entire army could board. My friend Nahla and I led the way.
We broke off from the group in a full run, down a narrow passageway. Twisting and turning, we had the path memorized. They followed us, believing we were merely trying to escape. We ran as though every life depended on us. I could only hear my heart beating so fast, and the sound of my own breath - steady, paced and calculated. We finally reached a small hexagonal corridor, where 4 doors branched off in criss-crossing directions. The entire area was shiny silver metal. As we sprinted across this small open space to the door, I looked up and saw my reflection on the wall. Everything came to a sudden, eternally suspended pause. Who was this person looking back at me? What was happening? I was looking at a stranger and yet, could not remember who i was expecting to see. Things around me were moving at warp speed, but my body, and the reflection staring boldly back at me was still. She was so tall, slender but incredibly muscular. A beautiful young woman with long black hair and brown skin. A wide, angular face with very defined bone structure and a wide nose. But those eyes…they seemed so familiar. I had never felt so strange in all of my life. It was as if i was fully expecting to see someone else. But who? I could hear someone screaming in the distance. As the screams got louder and louder, I became suddenly alert and fully aware, as if i had been in a dream.
“MA’AH….MA’AH!!!!” It was Nahla. She had come back to find me. She grabbed my hand and pulled me through the door. We hit the airlock that securely shut off the part of the ship we had just come from, an entire army trying desperately to catch us. I saw explosions of light and fire reflected in Nahla’s eyes. With us now safely inside, my people had blown up that entire area of the ship and the enemy army with it. We watched some of them burning and screaming as that part of the ship disappeared into the blackness, and only the stars remained.
I felt nothing as I watched. Nothing but a sense of justice and peace- like balance had finally been restored, even if for just a fleeting moment.
